What’s Coming to Tysons? Effects on McLean and Nearby Communities

Tysons Common Area-vertical, re-sized, sharperYou are considering downsizing or moving into a bigger home in McLean, VA, or in a nearby community.  What’s all the construction at Tysons Corner, right at the Mall and the future metro stop?

Pedestrian Walkways

The redevelopment of Tysons will include a series of pedestrian walkways and bicycle paths that will open in the fall of 2014, following the opening of the new Metrorail station.  This station will be one of four in the Tysons area, all of which will be opening on July 26.

Offices and Apartment Building

The building project includes the 22-floor Tysons Tower office building and Vita, a 28-story residential apartment building.

Hyatt Regency

A Hyatt Regency hotel is scheduled to open in the winter of 2015, with 300+ guest rooms and an executive conference center with 15,500 square feet of meeting and event space.

Outdoor Plaza

At the center of the Tysons Corner Center expansion is a unique, elevated outdoor plaza (pictured at right), more than an acre and a half in size. The plaza will link all the project elements together to provide a dramatic new outdoor venue for activities and events, perfect for corporate and social gatherings.
